cutting sandwich down the middle= STEM degree
cutting sandwich diagonal= liberal arts

one of the most controversial, riveting posts in tumblrs short troubled history

I’m liberal arts then, ok I’m fine with that. Oddly hot sandwiches (chip, bacon or sausage) I’m STEM, fine with that too!
I love arts, I love science.

I work in IT, my degree (hahahaha oh god I finished it!) is a confused mess they call Humanities (with English Language) so… yeah depends on the sandwich. Though in my case it’s more ‘how hard to contain is the filling’

? yep that’s a familiar peril for me. I took Humanities in high school, it was History and Geography taught in one lesson, only did it for 2 terms it was weird and as you say, messy !

On this I’ve done history, art history, art, music, english lit, spanish (which was heavy on the culture and history of spanish-speaking places and would have got more so if I’d been able to continue), african lit (in english) and probably other stuff I’ve forgotten because it was all very intersectional. And then there was the spectacularly technical English Grammar course I got a distinction for, that was a bastard, but I enjoyed all of it. I think? Well I kept going back for more so I guess I must have!

We split English into two classes, English Language and English Literature. English Language is the same as English Grammar. I loved that class. I’m a complete pedant in adult life. It comes from my love of learning about the complications of the English language. It is my mother tongue but, it’s amazing what I still discover about it. I love correct punctuation, it’s pure and enjoyable. Probably why you kept going back for more !
