“ For years Brits looked down on ‘weird europeans’ with their odd electoral system, that always resulted in weak and unstable governments. But look what’s happening in the UK right now. Despite her losses, the British PM still has a majority of which politicians on the continent can only dream of.
But the difference is that politicians here on the continent have learned to live with a ‘hung parliament’, parliaments without an overall majority, they have learned how to form coalitions, how to compromise with one another and how to look for a consensus. That is something British politicians have never learned.”
