Barbra Streisand by Cecil Beaton / 1970
This is her “On A Clear Day You Can See Forever” look. She’s magnificent.
Isn’t she @losethehours also luminous and dignified.
@coolfayebunny She always jealously guarded how she is filmed or photographed. In the height of her public life some people mocked her for this trait.
Look at this picture! She *is* luminous. She was ahead of her time in demanding control of her own image.
Yes @losethehours I’m aware of how nervous she was of her looks…I always thought her stunningly beautiful. She was mocked for this. The crap she took later to direct Yentl went beyond mocking. I’ve seen it, not perfect but really beautiful. I loved the soundtrack from it.
Years ago there was a rumor about her being found in a porn film she made when she was very young. In those days that was a career killer @coolfayebunny.
Barbra finally addressed it. When asked if she knew about the film she said she had seen it. Then, bless her I loved this, she said if people look at the woman supposed to be her in the film they can easily see that the woman has short, unattractive fingers. Barbra said her fingers are long and elegant.
That was it. The whole thing shut down.
Classy @losethehours !
